The College of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Al al-Bayt is holding a meeting for new students.
The College of Earth and Environmental Sciences held a meeting for its new students to welcome them to the university this year, under the patronage of the Dean, Professor Habes Al-Mashaqbah, and in the presence of the vice deans, department heads, and faculty members.
Dean Habes Al-Mashaqbah conveyed the greetings of the university president to the new students and congratulated them on being in their second home at the university. He pointed out that university life builds a new personality, creates a suitable place for knowledge, nurtures minds, refines souls, and fosters ambitions. He urged the students to make the most of the knowledge available at the university and to develop their skills, interests, and attitudes, emphasizing that they are the hope for the future and the spirit of the present.
During the meeting, Al-Mashaqbah asked the students to put in more effort to learn the knowledge and skills that benefit the country and highlighted the university's role in shaping thoughts, culture, and information through science and knowledge, and achieving the aspirations of the nation and its wise leadership.
The Assistant Dean, Dr. Islam Al-Dabsha, provided an overview of the college, wishing the students success and excellence, and she talked about the establishment of the college, its departments, and the programs it offers.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shabeeb, Head of the Geographic Systems Department, and Dr. Ahmed Shdaifat, Head of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, explained to the students the plans, programs, specializations, knowledge areas, practical and life fields, guiding plans, and consultations available in the college's departments.
Mohammad Al-Shawqafah, a representative from the Deanship of Student Affairs’ Student Services Department, explained the services provided by the deanship, including accommodation and employment, financial assistance, and health insurance. He also mentioned the extracurricular activities organized by the deanship through its various departments.
Tarek Al-Amoush, a representative from the Center for Excellence, Innovation, and Creativity, gave a brief about the center and the services it offers, pointing out the business incubators and the training courses offered to students at the university through the center and its resources.
Mustafa Al-Khwaldeh, Coordinator of the Crown Prince Foundation in Mafraq, provided an introduction to the foundation's goals and programs aimed at university students and the local community, including pathways for leadership, sustainable development, and community engagement, which encompass various programs and activities.
At the end of the meeting, there was an extensive discussion with the new students, and an introductory video showcasing the programs, facilities, and laboratories offered by the college was presented.
