Predictors of Anxiety and Depression among Parents of Children with Cancer in Jordan.

Parents of childrenwith cancer in Jordanwere experiencing high levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms. ? Parents of children who had nausea and vomiting, and reported high scores on the depression scale, predicted higher anxiety scores. ? Parents with younger children, having work problems, having 1 chronic disease, and with increased anxiety level predicted a higher total score on the depression sub?scale. ? Implementing a screening programme for anxiety and depression is needed. ? Nurses and other health care providers should target parents at risk for anxiety and depression by early screening and psychiatric consultation.
