About Al al-Bayt University (AABU):

A Royal Decree was issued on August 17th, 1992, establishing Al al-Bayt University in Al-Mafraq Governorate. Following a period of preparation and hard work, AABU commenced its first academic year in (1994/1995), offering bachelor's and master's degree programs in three main faculties: Faculty of Islamic Jurisprudence and Law, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (recently School of Business).

In addition, the University includes three specialized academic institutes: Institute of Islamic Architecture, House of Wisdom Institute, and Institute of Astronomy and Space Sciences, as well as two service centers: the Language Center and the Computer Center, and eight administrative departments.

Furthermore, the University enrolled approximately five hundred students,In its first academic year, taught by (88) faculty members recruited from various countries, including renowned scholars from the Arab and Islamic worlds, as well as internationally. The students were distributed across twenty-three master's degree programs and twenty-six bachelor's degree programs, coming from Jordan, several Arab and Islamic countries, and friendly foreign nations.

AABU has gone through various solid stages of construction and development, investing all available human and material resources, and has taken very important steps towards entrepreneurship and excellence, achieving significant milestones to present itself on local, regional, and international levels, as a national Jordanian university, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Furthermore, AABU strives to achieve its vision, accomplish its mission and reach its goals, in accordance with a set of core values ​​on which it bases all its educational and administrative activities.

As a result, AABU now comprises sixteen Faculties: Faculty of Sharia, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Science, School of Business, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Princess Salma bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, House of Wisdom Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, Faculty of Modern Languages, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Faculty of Technical Sciences. In addition, there are two deanships: the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Deanship of Student Affairs.

The university also includes ten scientific, research, and service centers: Quality and Development Center, Language Center, Computer Center, Center for Environmental, Water, and Energy Research, Center for Consulting, Training, and Capacity Building, E-Learning Center, Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Center for Modeling and Simulation for Risk Analysis, Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment, and Center for Omani Research and Studies. The university also has nineteen administrative departments.

By the end of May 2026, the total number of AABU students reached (22,341) students, including about (750) international students, who came from various countries around the world, Arab, Islamic and foreign contries, where they are taught by (534) faculty members, assisted by (630) colleagues from the administrative staff of the university. The university students were distributed among the programs and specializations, with (983) students in (44) specializations at the level of graduate studies programs, (20,403) students on the seats of study in (53) specializations in bachelor’s programs, and (955) students in the diploma program, distributed over eight different professional specializations.

Finally, the sincere intentions accompanied by solid professional qualifications will always remain at Al al-Bayt University, in preparation for building and developing the capabilities and skills of its human resources, which help it to serve students, through developing study plans and curricula in all existing specializations in its various study programs, in addition to creating new academic specializations that enhance the high level of the University's status and reputation, in accordance with the requirements of local and regional labor markets, taking into consideration the focus on applying national and international quality standards, and academic accreditation requirements in all scientific programs and disciplines, and all other supportive administrative paths.
