Advancing Sport Education… Building Knowledge for the Future
The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Al al-Bayt University represents the culmination of an academic journey that began in 2016 with the establishment of the Department of Physical Education within the Faculty of Educational Sciences. This journey reached a significant milestone in 2025 with the establishment of the Faculty in its current form, marking a strategic step that reflects the University’s commitment to advancing its academic and research ecosystem in the fields of physical education, movement sciences, and applied sport sciences.
The Faculty is founded upon a contemporary academic vision that integrates scientific knowledge with practical application, embraces innovation and technology, promotes scientific research, and responds effectively to the evolving demands of the labor market. Through this vision, the Faculty seeks to prepare highly qualified graduates who possess strong academic foundations, professional competencies, and the capacity to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of the sport sector at the local, regional, and international levels.
The Faculty currently comprises two specialized academic departments: the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Movement Sciences and Applied Sport Sciences. It offers two undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor’s degrees in Physical Education and Movement Sciences and Applied Sport Sciences.
The Faculty firmly believes that the future of sport is intrinsically linked to the ability to generate, disseminate, and effectively apply knowledge. Accordingly, scientific research, innovation, and continuous development constitute core pillars of its future-oriented strategy.
As part of its aspiration to establish an integrated academic ecosystem, the Faculty is pursuing the expansion of its graduate education offerings through the prospective introduction of two Master’s programs: the Master’s in Physical Education and the Master’s in Movement Sciences and Applied Sport Sciences.
The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences continues its journey toward academic, research, and professional excellence, with a clear commitment to cultivating a new generation of sport specialists equipped with scientific thinking, creativity, leadership, and the capacity to make a meaningful impact. Through this commitment, the Faculty aspires to serve as a dynamic academic platform for advancing sport and movement sciences and as a strategic partner in shaping a healthier, more active, and more accomplished future.
