Jordan Journal of Islamic Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal issued by the Higher Committee for Scientific Research in the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The journal is indexed in the international database Ulrich. For the second time consecutively, the Jordan Journal of Islamic Studies is ranked the third in the field of Islamic studies for the year 2020 issued by the Impact Factor and Reference Citation for Arab Scientific Journals (Arcif) in accordance with international standards. As such, the Journal's index became within the first category with the impact factor (Q1).

The Journal publishes four issues per year.

- Spreading and advancing original scientific knowledge in the field of Islamic studies
- Scientifically treating the contemporary issues and problems from an Islamic perspective based on the Islam's moderate and tolerant spirit and its comprehensive humanistic purposes.
- Raising the level of scientific awareness of the nation's need of civilized achievement in the scientific and practical fields from an Islamic perspective among scholars and educated people.
- Preserving, consolidating, and being proud of the identity and values of the Arab and Islamic nation.
