Al al-Bayt University strives to promote scientific research that supports the development of the Mafraq Governorate specifically and Jordan as a whole. This commitment is reflected in establishing specialized research centres across various scientific fields. Among these, the Center for Environmental, Water, and Energy Research, established in 2009, is one of Jordan's most prominent research centres.

The Center boasts advanced scientific laboratories and state-of-the-art technical capabilities, enabling it to support industrial and service sectors as well as researchers from Jordan and abroad. It is equipped with skilled technicians and modern scientific instruments for conducting laboratory analyses of rocks, minerals, liquids, and organic materials.

The Center actively collaborates with university faculty, graduate students, and external researchers to conduct innovative studies on water, environmental, and energy issues. Additionally, it seeks scientific and technical support from institutions supporting research both locally and internationally.

Notable achievements include research funded by the Scientific Research Support Fund at the Ministry of Higher Education, the SABEQ Program supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and partnerships with global organizations such as the European Union and NATO. These collaborations have led to pioneering studies in land resource management, water harvesting, industrial groundwater recharge, and other fields.
