1- Applying literary research methods.


2- Utilizing modern critical theory and employing various approaches and techniques of literary criticism across different types of literary texts.


3- Distinguishing a wide range of English poetry styles from its beginnings in the medieval period to the present.


4- Studying an extensive selection of British novels from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by prominent authors of these periods.


5- Understanding the evolution of theatrical and dramatic genres with a particular focus on the classical, Renaissance, and modern periods


6- Gaining knowledge of the history and development of comparative literature in both Europe and the United States.


7- Acquiring familiarity with a wide range of literary works written in English from around the world.


8- Familiarity with narratives of identities and anti-colonial social relations across various literary genres, including novels, stories, drama, and poetry.
