BA in English Language and Literature

  1. Teaching students how to write and speak clearly, read perceptively, and think critically in English.
  2. Teaching students about the various English language patterns, sentence structures and dialogue forms; all of which can help them to communicate effectively with other native and non- native speakers of English.
  3. Teaching students about literary terms, genera, and figures.
  4. Teaching students about British and American literary and cultural tradition through their exposure to classical and modern English literary texts.
  5. Teaching students about historical traditions in British and American literature.
  6. Teaching students how to apply critical theory to literary texts.
  7. Teaching students how to recognize and comprehend different varieties of the English language.
  8. Teaching students and guiding them to  understand the functions and the historical development of the English language.
