The Effectiveness of Hawkins Method in Developing Science Processes Skills in Science Subject of Fourth Grade Students in Jordan
The study aims at exploring the effectiveness of Hawkins method in developing science processes skills in science subject of fourth Grade Students. To achieve this purpose, the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach. The sample consisted of 52 students of fourth grade in one of schools affiliated with Al-Mafraq, 26 students studied using the Hawkins method and the other 26 students studied in the traditional method. The test of the science processes skills was developed and its validity and reliability were secured, to be applied on both groups before and after the study. Findings indicated: statistically significant differences between the means of the scores of the control group students and experimental group students in the science process skills test in sciences in favor of the experimental group. Recommendations regarding the use of Hawkins Method in teaching science are cited.
