PSYCHOLOGICALS TRESS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO THE SKILL AND COGNITIVE ACHIEVEMENT IN GYMNASTICS FOR STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AT AAL AL-BAYT UNIVERSITY
The study aimed to identify the level of the psychological stress faced by the students of the Department of Physical Education and the relationship between the stress and the skill and cognitive achievement in gymnastics. The study was conducted on a sample of (38) students of gymnastics (1) who were intentionally selected. The researcher used the descriptive methodology as well as a questionnaire as a tool for collecting data; the questionnaire consisted of four fields: academic, family, social and economic stress. The study showed that there was stress in four areas where the academic stress was in the first rank followed by the economic stress in the second rank, the field of the family stress in the third rank and finally the social stress in the fourth and final rank. The results also showed that the stress affected the achievement of skills only in gymnastics while there was no impact on the cognitive achievement. The researcher recommended the need for holding workshops to reduce facing the psychological stress by students and the need for a specialist and a psychologist in the department of physical education at Al Al-Bayt University.
