Constructive Validity of the Arabic Version of UCLA Loneliness Scale (Version 3)
The purpose of this study was to examine the constructive validity of the Arabic version of the University of California, Los Angeles, Loneliness Scale (Version 3) (UCLA LS; Russell, 1996) that measures the degree of the student?s Loneliness as dangerous phenomena that arises from the withdrawal and social isolation. The Arabic version of UCLA was administered to a random sample of 267 students enrolled in the faculty of educational sciences at Al al-Bayt University. The findings of the study revealed that: Factor analysis of the Arabic version of UCLA measures three major factors: Absence of intimate relations, Sociability, and Isolation. The findings also revealed that, the internal consistency of the measure was 0.88, while the item- total correlation indices ranged between 0.21 and 0.65, an evidence of the Arabic version of UCLA Loneliness Scale
