The Impact of Talking about Oneself Activities in Developing Oral Expression among Second Grade Pupils
The study aimed to explore the impact of using some talking about oneself activities in developing the speaking ability of second grade pupils with respect to certain standards of language performance benchmarks . The researchers selected a sample consisted of two groups (control and experimental) of second grade pupils from a private school in Irbid Governorate . To confirm equivalence, a pretest for both groups was applied and then the pupils were trained for two months to use speaking abilities through intended talking about oneself activities. After that, the post test was carried out in order to get the results. The results revealed that there were significant differences between the two groups in speaking ability in favor of the experimental group. Also, the results revealed that there were significant differences and these were in favor of the experimental group at all standards of language performance benchmarks where the organization benchmark came first while the benchmark of imagination came last. The researchers recommended that effective activities and strategies for enhancing pupils' speaking abilities should be improved.
