Sources of work stress for male and female teachers of the first basic stage in Ajloun Governorate in Jordan
This study aimed to know the sources of work stress for teachers of the lower basic stage in Ajloun Governorate, which are represented in the following dimensions: teaching load, school environment, relationship with the local community, relationship with management, relationship with students, relationship with colleagues, professional satisfaction, and its relationship to variables: Gender, experience, marital status, educational qualification. The study sample consisted of (100) male and female teachers who work in government schools in the lower basic education stage in Ajloun Governorate, for the academic year 2009/2010. The work stress scale prepared by the researchers was used for the purposes of this study. The results of the study indicated that the rate of work stress was high among teachers, and the order of the sources of work stress as seen by teachers of the basic stage in Ajloun Governorate was as follows: occupational satisfaction, school environment, teaching load, relationship with management, relationship with colleagues, relationship with students, as well as The results of the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the extent of teachers' exposure to work pressures due to any of the variables.
