The Paratexts in the Novel Khuzama by Sinan Antoon
Abstract Objectives: This study aimed to address one of the most important modern narrative techniques, which are textual thresholds in the novel ?Khuzama? by the Iraqi novelist Sinan Antun. The study works to reveal the important role that monumental thresholds occupy in literary work, specifically in the novel ?Khuzama.? Methodology: The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach, which helped to study the elements surrounding the novel, which contributed to building a relationship between the body of the text and its reader. Results: The study concluded the necessary role of textual thresholds in revealing artistic aesthetics, intellectual and social visions, and revealing the psychological conflicts of characters and the disturbances in their national identity. The study demonstrated the strong relationship built by the writer Sinan Antun between the various textual thresholds and the text of the novel, as it contributed to revealing the content and implications of the literary work, and this is what served to deepen the connotations within the work. Conclusion: In light of the results reached by the study, it recommends conducting in-depth studies on the works of the Iraqi writer Sinan Antoon, as his literary experience is an important contribution that enriched Arabic literature.
