Required documents for graduate applications

 

Application for admission to graduate studies, master's degree: (Form No.: 1/1)

Required documents:

The following documents shall be attached to the admission application (non-refundable):

 

1.     The application fee for a master's degree from the Finance Department at Al al-Bayt University.

2.     A certified copy of the high school transcript (tawjihi) or equivalent.

3.     A certified copy of the first university degree (bachelor's) with a grade no less than (Good).

4.     A certified copy of the diploma (if available).

5.     A certified copy of the bachelor's, diploma, and master's transcripts.

6.     A certified copy of the birth certificate with the national number on it.

7.     Three personal photos (4*6).

8.     The equivalence of a certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for certificates issued by official foreign and Arab universities.

9.     The grading system for graduates of non-Jordanian universities.

10.  A copy of the military service book (for male students who were born in 1989 or before) OR a copy of the service termination or exemption certificate.

11.  A copy of the passport for non-Jordanian students, certified by the embassy of their country.

12.  A certified copy of the national ID card.

13.  No objection to members of the Jordanian Armed Forces from the competent authority.

14.  A no-objection paper for students who work in official, governmental, and any other institutions where workers are conditioned to get approval to continue their study in advance.

15.  Graduates of public and private Jordanian universities must attach proof from the university in which he/she obtained his/her bachelor's degree that he/she was not subjected to penalties during the period of his/her study according to the instructions of the Deanship of Student Affairs.

16.  Graduates of non-Jordanian universities must sign a written undertaking that no penalties have been imposed on them, according to the instructions of the Deanship of Student Affairs.

 

Non-Jordanian students

 

1.     Students who wish to enrol in graduate programs through cultural exchange agreements (between Jordan and their countries) must submit their applications to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Amman supported by the required documents and duly certified.

2.     Students who wish to study at their own expense can submit their applications supported by the required and duly certified documents directly to the Deanship of Graduate Studies at Al al-Bayt University.

 

Student Declaration

A.     I hereby declare that all the information in this application is correct, and if it turns out to the contrary, I bear all the legal consequences resulting from that, including the cancellation of my acceptance and the loss of my right to claim the fees I paid.

B.     I declare that I have never:

1.     I joined the aforementioned program at Al al-Bayt University.

2.     Dismissed for any reason.

C.      I declare that I am not currently enrolled in any other program at Al al-Bayt University.

D.     I declare that all the stages of my studies were regular (not by affiliation).

E.     I pledge to attend if I am asked through the university's website and the website of the Deanship of Graduate Studies, to apply for any exam or any matter related to my acceptance at the specified time. If I do not attend, I lose my right to compete for admission to the program I want to join.

F.      Passing the foreign language requirement (English) according to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the instructions of graduate studies, and the decisions of the Deans Council in this regard (the instructions can be reviewed on the website of the Deanship of Graduate Studies in this regard).

G.     Taking the pre-requisite courses specified by the concerned department according to the instructions and reviewing the website of the Deanship of Graduate Studies to follow up on the instructions, decisions and announcements regarding graduate students.

Calculation and Course Equivalence: (5/1, 20, 21, 24)

1.     Form No. (1/3) Calculation and Equivalency of Courses in Transfer and Transmission (Article 5/1).

2.     Form No. (3/2) Approval to study a course outside the plan (Article 5/1).

3.     Form No. (3/3) Approval to study courses at another university (Article 24).

 

Supervisor Appointment & Thesis Project

Articles (46-48)

Required documents:

1.     Form No. (7/1) Appointing a supervisor and approving the plan of a university thesis project.

2.     Form No. (7/2) of no objection to appointing a supervisor and approving a university thesis proposal.

3.     Form No. (7/3) Supervision for each (supervisor).

4.     Form No. (7/4) the names of the faculty members in the department and the supervision of master's students in the department.

5.     The student shall attach the proposal or his thesis project, provided that it includes the following according to Article (46/section C) of the Graduate Studies Instructions:

 

·         Thesis Title

·         The problem of the study, its importance and objectives.

·         Previous studies.

·         Research methodology.

·         List of references and sources.

6.     The student shall attach a detailed list of study requirements: (labs, materials, analysis equipment, software) with an indication of what is available and what is not available (if any).

7.     The student shall attach a detailed statement of the financial allocations needed for the study (if any).

 

Change a supervisor or add a co-supervisor to a graduate thesis

without changing the title of the message (Articles: 49, 50).

3. Form of Supervision of master's students in the Department, No.: (7/4).

4. Supervisor identification letter and project registration issued by the previous Council of Graduate Studies.

 

Changing the supervisor and changing the subject of the thesis:
 
Attachments:

4.     Form No. (7/3). Supervision for each supervisor

6.     The student shall attach the proposal or thesis project, provided that it includes the following according to Article (46/section C) of the Graduate Studies Instructions:

  • Thesis Title
  • The problem of the study, its importance and objectives.
  • Previous studies.
  • Research methodology.
  • List of references and sources.

7. The student shall attach a detailed list of study requirements: (labs, materials, analysis equipment, software) with an indication of what is available and what is not available (if any).

  1. The student shall attach a detailed statement of the financial allocations needed for the study (if any).
  2. Holding a seminar about the new topic.


A. Master thesis procedures (According to Articles: 54/b+c)
  Formation of a university thesis defence committee according to Articles (54-55).

 

Required documents:

1.     Formation of a university thesis defence committee form No.: (1/8).

2.     No-objection form No.: (8/2).

3.     Examiner form (each examinee) in the committee No.: (8/3).

4.     Departmental Faculty Members Form No.: (7/4).

 

Schedule the thesis defence date

Required documents:

Date of a thesis defence for a master's student (according to Article 7) Form No. (8/4), considering the following:

1.     Submit the thesis and the form to the department.

2.     Conducting a seminar on the department's readiness for the thesis.

3.     Delivering 3 copies of the thesis to the examiner after the council approves the defence committee.

4.     Setting the date of the defence after receiving all the examinee's reports, after referring to the Deanship of Graduate Studies in this regard, provided that the period between the council's approval of forming the committee and receiving copies of the thesis to the examinees and the date of the defence shall not be less than twenty-one days (Article 54/b).

5.     The defence.

6.     Deliver the thesis after being signed by the committee, considering the period specified in the defence committee's decision (Form 6/8).

7.     Observe the forms (8/7) (delivery of the thesis) and (8/8) (approval of the amendments).

 

B. Approval of the university's authorization to dispose of the thesis by distributing and photographing.

C. Copyright Statement granting the university the right to publish the thesis after obtaining the approval from the supervisor and the co-supervisor, if any.

D. Amending the title of a graduate thesis (only) (Article 53) Form No. (7/7)

E. Continuity of the supervisor's supervision on sabbatical leave (Article 51) Form (7/9)
