Students wishing to enrol in graduate programs must fulfil the foreign language requirement, as follows:

First: Students applying for graduate work must submit documents of passing a language proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS, French, German, etc.). Scores required for different subjects are as follows:

or an English language level test equivalent to international exams held by the university, as follows:

1.          TOEFL (IBT for scientific majors) Medicine, Dentistry, pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, Veterinary medicine, Engineering in all its branches and English language specializations ( literature, translation & teaching English) with a grade not less than (90). Other scientific majors and the (MBA) major with a grade of no less than (69) and for the humanitarian, economic and administrative specializations with a grade of no less than (59) from AMIDEAST Center Jordan branch only.​

2.          IELTS test with a grade not less than (6.5) for scientific majors (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, veterinary medicine, engineering, all English language disciplines, translation, literature, and teaching English methods). The rest of the scientific specialization and specialization (MBA) should obtain a grade no less than (5.5). For the humanitarian, economic and administrative majors no less than (5) from the British Council, Jordan branch only.

3.          English language level test equivalent to international exams for scientific majors  (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, Doctor of pharmacy, veterinary medicine and engineering and English language specializations (translation, literature, or methods of teaching the English language) with a grade no less than (75%). Other scientific majors and the MBA should obtain no less than (65%). The humanitarian, economic and administrative specializations should obtain no less than (50%) obtained from the language centres in the Jordanian official universities.

 4.          French and German language grades for admission to graduate programs:

5.     Conditions following (first) clause are not applied to:

a.     Students enrolling in graduate programs in the Arabic language are exempted from the requirements in (First), provided they submit proof of their proficiency in the foreign language. 

b.     Graduate students who achieved the foreign language condition during their enrollment in master's programs, whether it was passing a foreign language exam or a qualified program of (6) accredited hours.

c.     Students with a degree from English-speaking countries.

d.     Blind, deaf, and dumb students who are required to acquire a foreign language as a basis for admission to the graduate program in Jordanian universities, provided obtaining a medical report from the competent authority at the University Hospital of Jordan or the Founding King Abdullah University. Provided that the percentage of disability in the student is not less than (70%).

 

Second: If the student failed to prove his success in one of the ability tests or fails in the English language level test equivalent to the international examinations according to what was stated in the first above, the student may study a qualified program in the English language at the university in which he is accepted for a rate of (6) credit hours. Provided obtaining the following grades:

a.     Humanitarian, economic, and administrative majors (50%) and above.

b.     Scientific majors, nursing, rehabilitation sciences, and business administration majors (MBA) (65%) or above.

c.     Medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, Doctor of pharmacy, veterinary medicine and engineering and all English language specializations (literature, translation, or methods of teaching English) (75%) or above.

d.    The student can apply for an English language proficiency exam equivalent to international exams while studying the English language qualifying program.

e.     The students are required to enrol in the qualifying English language program and succeed in it during the first year of joining the graduate programs. Otherwise, his acceptance is considered void.
