On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at Al al-Bayt University organized a scientific awareness day on diabetes.

Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazal, stressed the importance of this scientific awareness day, which carries a noble humanitarian and health message aimed at raising the level of awareness of diabetes, encouraging early examination, proper nutrition, and regular physical activity to prevent the disease, praising the efforts of the healthcare system in Jordan and emphasizing the role of students of the Department of Clinical Nutrition in spreading health awareness in society and bringing about positive change in health behaviors.

Deputy Director of the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, Dr. Dana Hayasat, gave a lecture entitled "Diabetes: Reality and Challenges," in which she talked about the causes of diabetes, its types, complications, ways to prevent the disease, what periodic examinations are recommended to detect diabetes, and the importance of supporting patients and enabling them to manage their health effectively.

For his part, holistic medicine consultant Dr. Samir Al-Helou spoke about the importance of integrative medicine, which has become one of the most prominent modern trends in medical practice and a comprehensive scientific approach based on integrating modern traditional medicine with evidence-based therapeutic practices within a framework aimed at achieving more humane, effective, and sustainable healthcare.

The child, Hiba Abu Al-Samak, also shared the details of her inspiring journey with diabetes since childhood, which reflected a strong will to face diabetes.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazal, and the Head of the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Dr. Zaher Bashabsheh, presented certificates of appreciation to the participants in the scientific day for diabetes, which was managed by the Assistant Dean, Dr. Thana Jeraideh.

On the sidelines of the scientific day, a mobile scientific exhibition was held with the participation of Stevia Company, Reef Bread, Herbal Strain, Zad Al-Khair, and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology.​​​
