From Al al-Bayt University… to the Malaysian Ministry of Education

In conjunction with welcoming a new batch of Malaysian students to Al al-Bayt University, we recall with pride and honor one of the prominent stars among our graduates on the international stage…

Dr. Mazlee bin Malik

The former Malaysian Minister of Education in the government of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and one of the graduates of Al al-Bayt University with a bachelor's degree in Jurisprudence and its Origins.

Dr. Mazlee crowned his academic career with a master's degree from the University of Malaya, followed by a doctorate in Sharia Politics from Durham University in Britain in 2011.

He held the position of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Revelation Knowledge and Human Sciences at the International Islamic University of Malaysia, and has numerous scientific and intellectual contributions, and participations in conferences and forums concerned with Islamic politics and the situation in the Middle East.

In 2019, he was sworn in as Minister of Education in Malaysia before the King of the country at the Royal Palace in Kuala Lumpur, to be the only minister in the Council of Ministers who speaks Arabic fluently.

Al al-Bayt University also had the honor of receiving him on a special visit, where Dr. Mazlee bin Malik was awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of his distinguished career and international achievements.
