Launching a hydroponics project at Al al-Bayt University in partnership with the Korean company MIDBAR.

Under the patronage of the Vice President for Academic and Engineering Affairs, Professor Ahmed Alawneh, Al al-Bayt University, represented by the Center for Modeling and Simulation for Risk Analysis, organized a scientific awareness event celebrating the launch of the Aeroponics Project in cooperation with MIDBAR Company from South Korea, the University of Sheffield in Britain, and the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA. The Vice President, Alawneh, expressed his thanks to those in charge and supporters of this pioneering project, which is the first of its kind in Jordan and represents a model for integration between scientific research, practical application, and international partnership, and opens new horizons for students and researchers to acquire knowledge and experience. The Director of the Center for Modeling and Simulation, the project director, Professor Muayad Shawagfeh, confirmed that the Aeroponics Project seeks to employ modern modeling tools and smart technologies in the service of agricultural sustainability in Jordan and to enhance national food security. For their part, the Executive Director of MIDBAR Company, Mr. Moses, the Director of the Sustainability Center at the University of Sheffield, Professor Anthony Ryan, and the smart agriculture expert, Dr. Muayyad Musalmani, introduced aeroponics and sustainable agriculture in light of climate change and the concept of global food security. Engineer Maisoun Al-Zoubi from Al al-Bayt University and Jamal Al-Othman from the local community spoke about their experience working within the Aeroponics Farm project. The meeting was attended by the Vice Presidents, Professor Omar Al-Ateen, Professor Muhannad Akram, Professor Hani Akho Ershida, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Saif Shubeil, and a number of interested parties and students, where the meeting was moderated by Engineer Miral Al-Shuraideh.
