Al al-Bayt University signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Center for Research and Development of the Higher Council for Science and Technology to collaborate in developing scientific and research connections.
Al al-Bayt University and the National Center for Research and Development under the Higher Council for Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in enhancing scientific, academic, and research links, especially concerning research in the Badia region.
The memorandum was signed by the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Osama Nusair, and the Director of the Center, Professor Muhammad Wadyan, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council, Professor Mashhoor Al-Rifai.
President Osama Nusair affirmed that the university, due to its location, is part of the program and will exert its utmost efforts to serve the Badia through scientific research and development studies, aligning with its ongoing endeavor to serve the community.
Dr. Nusair pointed out that the university welcomes any partnership that contributes to finding practical solutions based on scientific research and field studies.
The Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Mashhoor Al-Rifai, also welcomed this collaboration, which enhances scientific research, and emphasized the importance of the program's role, established in 1992 by His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal with the aim of conducting research and studies in the northeastern Badia region of Jordan.
Dr. Al-Rifai added that the cooperation between the two parties will open many avenues for developing educational and research programs that serve the community and contribute to achieving Jordan's vision for sustainable development, enabling the proposal of joint research projects that support the development of the Badia.
Director of the Center, Muhammad Wadyan, pointed out that the collaboration between the Center and the university comes within the framework of their shared commitment to support scientific research and develop innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the Jordanian environment and its natural resources.
Dr. Wadyan added that the memorandum will support the rehabilitation of pastures, increase green spaces, and enhance water security through the application of innovative methodologies based on the integration of water, energy, food, and environmental sectors.
Both sides agreed to support scientific research and innovation by implementing joint research projects and activities, participating in setting priorities for scientific research that supports the "Development and Improvement of the Jordanian Badia" programs, and the university hosting several researchers and staff from the program’s team.
