A seminar titled "Enhancing the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future"

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the College of Education at Al al-Bayt University organizes a seminar titled "Enhancing the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future." 

The College of Education at Al al-Bayt University organized a scientific seminar on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, titled "Enhancing the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future," which featured the participation of Senator Asia Yaghi in the college’s centennial hall. 

The Dean of the college, Professor Dr. Youssef Muqadi, indicated during his sponsorship of the seminar that it aligns with the university’s strategic plan and its absolute belief in the necessity of caring for persons with disabilities and providing the requirements and means for a decent life within a safe environment. He pointed out that the presence of prominent and effective figures, as well as distinguished examples representing permanence and success in public positions, is part of the vision of the Hashemite leadership for this category.

Senator Asia Yaghi expressed her gratitude to the university, stating that organizing this seminar is a translation of an increasing understanding that disability is part of the human condition, which should have an active role in society. She highlighted the obstacles faced by this group and emphasized the need to involve them in public work. She also expressed her appreciation to His Majesty the King for his high vision in granting her the honor of being a member of the Senate, recognizing her commitment to representing this segment of the community and carrying the message of humanity with integrity, stemming from her belonging and love for the homeland and its wise leadership.

Professor Dr. Ihsan Al-Khalidi also emphasized the importance of legislations specific to persons with disabilities, the legislative framework, and the need to monitor it, as well as the necessity of focusing on persons with disabilities through specialized awareness programs, creating partnerships with international organizations, and personal, economic, political, and educational empowerment, alongside integration and capacity building.

At the conclusion of the seminar, organized by the head of the respiratory sciences and special education department, Professor Dr. Iyad Hamadneh, and moderated by Dr. Maysa Talilaan, a rich dialogue and discussion took place where attendees addressed questions and contributions from the audience.​
