The director of the Amman Stock Exchange lectures at Al-Bayt

On behalf of the university president, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmad Al-Alawneh, welcomed the Director of the Amman Stock Exchange, Mr. Mazen Wazayfi, in the presence of the Vice Presidents, Professor Dr. Mohannad Akram and Professor Dr. Hani Akhu Irshida, and the Dean of Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Akif Al-Fuqra. The university hosted the guest through the Faculty of Business to discuss the stock market and its national role. Al-Alawneh provided an overview of the university's programs, goals, mission, vision for the future, achievements, and new specializations. At the end of the meeting, Al-Alawneh and the guest exchanged commemorative shields.

During the lecture held in the Bakhit Auditorium in the Faculty of Business, Wazayfi explained the importance of the Amman Stock Exchange in the national economy as one of the financing units and a mirror of the economy and the financial market for all companies in the banking and private sectors. He clarified its mission of information disclosure and providing necessary information for the financial and banking sector. He also explained how it operates, the goals for which it was established, the factors that control its operation, and the developments it has undergone in the past period, indicating that it is an institution that cares for and protects national capital through oversight and regulations governing its dealings with traders. He pointed out that it is one of the national financial institutions that provide financial services within the frameworks of regulatory bodies and under their umbrella, which monitor, organize, and legislate the work of the stock exchange.

Wazayfi reviewed the journey of the Amman Stock Exchange in enhancing the efficiency of global pricing and the systems it collaborates with major global financial institutions. He touched upon the most significant issues in global stock exchanges and provided a comparison of the main factors that affected trading in financial markets and economic developments, explaining how these contributed to impacting the stock exchange's operations. He emphasized that the stock exchange represents 46% of the Gross Domestic Product and that the success of monetary policy enhances investment and positively reflects on economic sectors.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dr. Maari Bani Khalid, who introduced and moderated the lecture, highlighted the importance of the stock exchange’s role through its various departments and sectors, stating that the stock exchange director possesses global financial expertise.

During the lecture, which was attended by Ms. Hayam Mustafa from the Communication and Media Department at the Amman Stock Exchange, several faculty members, college students, and the Director of Public Relations and Media, Nasser Al-Shabail, a comprehensive dialogue ensued during which the lecturer answered questions and inquiries from the audience.​
