The College of Applied Medical Sciences is hosting an orientation for new students.
The College of Applied Medical Sciences organized an introductory meeting for new students accepted for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year at Al-Bayt University, held in the Bakhit Auditorium. 

The Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Nazzal, met with the new students, conveying the greetings of the esteemed University President, Prof. Osama Naseer, welcoming and congratulating them on their acceptance into this distinguished academic institution, wishing them success.

Dr. Nazzal began by introducing the students to the College of Applied Medical Sciences, stating that Al-Bayt University has introduced new specializations, including those in the College of Applied Medical Sciences, to ensure the university can graduate qualified and specialized students in healthcare and supportive medical services. This aims to enable them to work in the health sector, whether in the private or public sector, with a high level of efficiency and professionalism, capable of competing in both local and international markets.

He emphasized that medical specializations are currently in high demand in the global job market and are essential for producing scientific research that contributes to development. Dr. Nazzal mentioned that the College covers specializations including Medical Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Speech and Language Sciences, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy, as well as Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics and Medical Laboratory Sciences. He elaborated that graduates from these specializations would be among the best across universities, thanks to the high readiness and technology of the labs, rigorous academic and training plans, and the expectation for students to be responsible, dedicated, and professional to compete in the job market locally and internationally, as this is primarily a humanitarian profession.

The meeting included heads of various departments within the college. Dr. Amal Azrail, head of the Medical Analysis Department, spoke about its importance as it forms a fundamental pillar with several sub-departments such as Biochemistry and Pathology, and it is a vital tool for diagnosing diseases, providing students with extensive opportunities in the job market.

On his part, Dr. Khaldoun Al-Radaida, head of the Allied Medical Sciences Department, discussed the specializations in radiology and respiratory therapy, highlighting the rarity of respiratory therapy programs in Jordanian universities due to the high costs of labs; however, Al-Bayt University will provide and equip them to the highest standards for students.

Dr. Zahir Al-Bashabsheh, head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, spoke about the importance of this program for students, as it offers strong opportunities to gain experiences that qualify them to become clinical nutrition specialists. He pointed out that there is significant market potential for providing nutrition consultations to athletes and the entire community, along with other substantial and beneficial aspects.

Dr. Eman Atiyah, head of the Rehabilitation Sciences Department, stated that this department includes three very important programs: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy, which prepare students to handle many medical cases, allowing them to learn diagnosis and rehabilitation. Each program includes applications and training agreements with specialized clinics and hospitals, enabling graduates to practice their profession proficiently.

The meeting concluded with a representative from the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Al-Shwaqeifa, introducing students to the Dean's office, its specializations, and the services provided to students. Al-Shwaqeifa also discussed the university's penalty system and the disciplinary procedures for violations of university regulations and guidelines, emphasizing the importance of adhering to university ethics and the consequences of infractions such as cheating or impersonation during exams, which result in penalties for both parties. He also talked about the implications of violating university regulations, infringing on the rights of others, and harming the reputation and decorum of the university.

The meeting included department heads and several faculty members, along with a large number of students, where an extensive dialogue took place, and the heads of the relevant departments answered questions and inquiries from the new students.
