The Law School is holding its regular semester lectures for its students on "Urgent Injunctions and Summary Proceedings."
The Faculty of Law, represented by the Private Law Department, organized a lecture for its students on "Urgent Applications and Urgent Procedural Requests," attended by faculty members in the Hassan Auditorium at the university.
Initially, Private Law Professor Dr. Nael Musa explained what an urgent procedural request is and its goal, which is to obtain a temporary decision until the main judgment is made in the future. He pointed out the essence of urgent requests and urgent procedural applications regarding their nature, importance, conditions, related goals, and the decisions issued concerning them.
He also outlined the conditions for urgent requests, specifically the urgency condition, which refers to the fear of delay and the need for immediate protection. This is not a personal standard set by the plaintiff but rather one determined by the judge based on a set of specific circumstances related to the plaintiff that necessitate issuing a quick ruling to secure protection and avert an urgent threat.
Dr. Musa highlighted that the procedures for urgent requests are characterized by speed compared to regular procedures. The dispute in urgent cases begins when the urgent application is submitted to the competent urgent matters judge with a complete list of all its details. Additionally, the urgent request may be included in the main lawsuit if the main case has been filed in court.
At the end of the lecture, which was presented and moderated by the Vice Dean, Professor Dr. Nabil Shatnawi, he mentioned that there are rules governing trials and that the Jordanian legislator has established specific rules that require some urgent temporary procedures. A discussion took place regarding urgent lawsuits, during which the speaker answered the questions and inquiries from the audience.
