As part of the initiatives and activities undertaken by the Faculty of Law at Al al-Bayt University to achieve sustainable development goals and serve the community, the faculty, under the sponsorship of Dean Professor Dr. Samer Dalal’ah, organized a seminar titled "Enhancing the Culture of Peace, Cooperation, and Rejecting Violence." 

During the event, international law professor Dr. Hamza Al-Dughmi spoke about the role of international law in establishing the foundations of global peace. He mentioned that international law places the utmost emphasis on children's rights agreements, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination and Violence Against Women, and the Convention on the Prevention of Racial Discrimination. It also guarantees public freedoms, such as the right to mobility, freedom of residence, the right to development, and encompasses the rights of minorities, as well as rights related to immigration and asylum. Al-Dughmi added that international law has established binding general rules for countries regarding these agreements, noting that Jordan ranks highly in child and women's rights legislation.

Moreover, international law professor Dr. Ali Al-Shir’ah highlighted the importance of promoting a culture of peace among nations by fostering a generation that understands the significance of peace and the rejection of violence and hatred, which ultimately leads to the development and prosperity of society.

Al-Shir’ah affirmed that international law requires a public authority to establish factors of peace in the world and spread human rights principles. 

For his part, Dean Professor Dr. Samer Dalal’ah emphasized the importance of holding such meetings to raise awareness among students, encouraging them to be role models for others in promoting a culture of peace and rejecting violence. 

At the end of the meeting, moderated by Dr. Qasem Al-Owon, the speakers answered questions and inquiries from the students.
