The present study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a training program to develop the level of educational competencies for special education teachers with autism spectrum disorder integrated in Jordan during the service. The study sample consisted of 32 teachers randomly selected from special education teachers with autism spectrum disorder. They were divided into two groups: the control group, consisting of 6 teachers, and the experimental group, consisting of 16 teachers with work experience (6 to 9). The researchers applied the following instruments: the personal information questionnaire about the teacher, the teacher competency scale, and the competency development program for teachers with autism disorder. The scale consisted of 56 items divided into five dimensions. The validity and reliability of the scale were assured. The study findings showed significant differences at (?=0.05) between the means of the study in favour of the experimental in the level of educational competencies and their dimensions. The study concluded with several recommendations, most notably the use of scientific evidence to develop the professional competencies of special education teachers and amend policies and practices related to inclusive programs in public schools for students with autism spectrum disorder
