Impact of Using Glove Puppet Theatre on Improving the Comprehension Skills of Listening and Speaking for Basic Grade Female Students in Jordan
Abstract This project aimed to investigate the impact of using glove puppet theatre on improving the comprehension skills of listening and speaking for a sample of 65 third grade female students who were studying at Rehab Basic School of Females in Al-Mafraq governorate. Two sections, experimental and control, were used. To achieve the goal of the study, the researchers prepared a listening comprehension test and a note card to monitor speaking. The psychometric characteristics for the two tools were verified. A pretest was performed for the two groups to assure equivalency. The teacher was trained on using glove puppets and then the experiment was applied for six weeks. After that a post-test was performed, the data were analyzed, which indicated a statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group, where the listening and speaking comprehension were significantly improved.
