Using Technology by Visually Impaired Persons in Orientation and Mobility: Current Status, Barriers and resolutions

This study aimed at identifying the current status of technology which are used by visually impaired persons in orientation and mobility. Also searching the difficulties and barriers that face using technology, and study providing the suggested strategies which help in increasing the use of these technologies. The sample of the study consisted of (65) visually impaired persons. The results of the current study revealed the following : 1-There are no systemic programs or specialist in orientation and mobility in jordan. also the most used types of technology by visually Impaired persons were the types of low technology such as traditional cane.
