The school of "phonetic permutations" is considered the first lexical composition, and a source for dictionaries thereafter. Since this school relies on syllables as a means to classify its lexical material, this study deals with its most famous dictionaries, namely: "Al-Ain" for Al-Khalil, and "Al-Bari'" for Al-Qali, by studying, analyzing and balancing. What came in the introduction to these two dictionaries of a description of the linguistic phonemes exits, reveals accurate insights that agree with what modern phonology has reached in many issues, as it is considered an authentic source of phonetic study, and not just quotations from language books. Among the findings of this study was the clarification of the exact concept of some of the terms mentioned by Al-Khalil and Al-Qali in describing the exits of sounds, and the unveiling of the truth of some linguistic sounds through the description of their exits, as well as a balance between what Al-Khalil and Al-Qali proved in describing the exits of sounds and their arrangement. . And balancing these attentions with the data of the modern audio lesson; To show the extent of its authenticity on the one hand, and the compatibility and disagreement between them on the other hand.
