Department Message
The department of Adult
Health Nursing plays a key role in the preparation of undergraduate and
graduate nursing students at Princess Salma Faculty of Nursing. The department
provides numerous theoretical and clinical courses that focus on health and
deviations of health among adults. Within this website you can find the
complete list of the courses that are taught in our department for both
graduate and undergraduate levels.
Undergraduate nursing students are initially motivated to learn through
carefully guided experiences in the well-prepared nursing skills labs in their
first year and then in their second year are moved to practice clinical nursing
where they are instructed and supervised to use critical thinking skills in
caring for adult patients with acute and chronic health deviations. As the
students progress for roles of increasing nursing complexity in their last
undergraduate year, the educational process in the intensive clinical training
courses becomes more independent and inquiry based.
At our department, we are creating a learning environment that encourages our
students to meet a changing and challenging healthcare environment with
education as the means to make a difference in the lives of people.
We are keen to implant within our students a belief that providing excellent
care is not just an aspiration but an expectation. We guide our students to
strive for excellence with the understanding that good enough is never good
enough -especially now as nurses are being called to lead in the transformation
and advancement of healthcare systems overall the world.
It is definitely an exciting time to be
a nurse and we are excited that you are considering our Faculty of Nursing to
help you make your goals something more that will not only change your life but
the lives of so many others you will encounter in your career.
Best regards
