About the Department

The Department of Spanish Language is one of the Faculty of Foreign Languages departments. It is in charge of teaching and contributing to promoting the Spanish Language and literature. The Department offers students the opportunity not only to acquire but also to master the Spanish language in order to meet the Jordanian society's demand of qualified graduates in the Spanish language.

Prior to its establishment as a department in 2021, the Spanish Language Program was one of the programs taught by the Department of Modern Languages.

Currently, the Department has seven faculty members, six of them are Jordanians of various academic ranks who are graduates of Spanish universities, in addition to a Spanish lecturer. There are approximately 350 students pursuing a dual major in the speciality of Spanish and English languages.
