Department Overview

The Department of Allied Medical Sciences at Al al-Bayt University is one of the core academic units within the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences. It was established to meet the growing demand for well-qualified healthcare professionals in the fields of Medical Imaging Technology and Respiratory Therapy. The department offers two accredited bachelor’s degree programs, each comprising four years of academic study, including extensive clinical training in accredited hospitals and healthcare centers.

The Medical Imaging Technology program aims to prepare competent radiologic technologists capable of performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced technologies, including conventional radiography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The curriculum emphasizes both scientific knowledge and hands-on clinical skills, ensuring that graduates are able to interact professionally with patients, operate imaging equipment safely, and produce high-quality diagnostic images.

The Respiratory Therapy program is designed to graduate skilled professionals who are proficient in assessing and managing patients with respiratory disorders. The program provides in-depth training in oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and the care of critically ill patients. Students also receive comprehensive clinical training in diverse healthcare settings to develop practical competencies aligned with international standards.
