A scientific seminar within the activities of the Azerbaijani Cultural Day entitled "A Window on Azerbaijan" in the Al-Hassan bin Talal Amphitheater at the University.
The activities of Azerbaijani Cultural Day continued, with a group of scientific papers presented as part of a scientific and cultural seminar held in the Hassan bin Talal Amphitheater at the university, entitled: "A Window on Azerbaijan," which was chaired by Dr. Muntha al-Harahsheh from the Department of Arabic Language in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Al-Harahsheh pointed out that this event is a valuable opportunity to delve into the unique narrative about Azerbaijan, that land rich in vibrant traditions, artistic heritage, and a distinguished strategic location, stressing that this occasion contributes to enhancing the Azerbaijani cultural impact and its continuous contributions in the fields of arts and contemporary human sciences.
The writer Dr. Ziad Al-Zoubi from Yarmouk University presented a scientific paper dealing with the migration of Azerbaijani literary texts to Europe, reviewing the experience of the poet Mirza Shafi Waze'h as a prominent model of those texts, which enjoyed widespread popularity in Europe before being known in Azerbaijan, through their translations into German and their widespread publication.
The Azerbaijani Cultural Attaché, Nejati Ismailov, also spoke about Azerbaijani culture and its diversity, pointing to the importance of building bridges of friendship between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
For his part, Professor Dr. Muhammad al-Miqdad from the Faculty of Political Science at the university dealt with Jordanian-Azerbaijani political and economic relations, explaining that the relations between the two brotherly countries are distinguished in the fields of political and cultural cooperation, while economic relations remain modest in terms of the volume of trade exchange, pointing to the existing understandings in the areas of cultural and academic cooperation, and the twinning project between the Jordanian and Azerbaijani capitals.
Professor Dr. Alian Al-Jaloudi from the Department of History in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, presented a historical light on the spread of Islam and Arabization in Azerbaijan, reviewing the Islamic conquests in the region, the settlement of Arabs in it, and the most important stations that contributed to the spread of Islam and the Arabic language.
The Head of the Arabic Language Department, Professor Dr. Nart Qakhoun, also delivered a panoramic intervention entitled "Azerbaijani Culture and Literature", opening it with a literary text expressing his personal experience in visiting Azerbaijan, and discovering its civilizational depth and rich cultural heritage.
Dr. Fathi Al-Shawawra from the Department of History at the university spoke about the political conditions in Azerbaijan until the end of the second century AH, while Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Jaradat reviewed the role of Azerbaijani poets in enriching Islamic civilization.
The seminar concluded with a paper by Dr. Maisoun Al-Zaghoul dealing with the geographical location and human characteristics of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of these characteristics in shaping the national and cultural identity of the country.
