Al-Bayt University signs a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
As part of enhancing collaboration between research centers in universities and the water sector, Al al-Bayt University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. This agreement aims to adopt innovative and creative ideas for water management and conservation, boost scientific research efforts, provide training, and participate in joint scientific projects, especially concerning the water sector's research priorities in Jordan. On behalf of the esteemed president of the university, Professor Hani AkhouIrshaida, the Vice President for Community Affairs and International Relations, signed the memorandum with Dr. Jihad Al-Mahamid, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Hamdan, the Director of the Center for Environment, Water, and Energy Research at Al al-Bayt University, along with several officials from the ministry's water sector.
Al-Mahamid indicated that the ministry aims to open up to modern global scientific experiences through research, training, and participation in scientific projects, implementing joint initiatives that align with the water sector's priorities in both scientific and practical fields. This will positively impact the sector and its workers, equipping them with the necessary expertise, especially given the challenges facing the water sector, and acknowledging universities as a key research and development partner for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and its institutions.
Vice President of Al al-Bayt University, Dr. Hani AkhouIrshaida, praised the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in delivering services to citizens amidst the major challenges facing the sector through efficient management of water resources. He highlighted the university's openness to collaborative partnerships with the ministry to serve the water sector in Jordan. On another note, Dr. Ibrahim Hamdan explained that the Center for Environment, Water, and Energy Research at Al al-Bayt University is considered one of the leading and specialized research centers, which has extensive research and scientific relationships with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, particularly in water research, studies, and testing in Jordan. He noted that signing this agreement would enhance this collaboration and activate the partnership between the university and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
