The department is mainly concerned with the implementation of work related to academic and administrative affairs within the work of the aforementioned councils and committees and in accordance with the powers of the councils stipulated in the applicable Jordanian Universities Law, which are as follows:
Recommending to the Higher Education Council on many issues such as: approving the establishment, merging and canceling of colleges, departments, programs and academic majors, discussing draft regulations and submitting them to the Higher Education Council to complete the procedures for their approval in accordance with the rules.
• Determining the numbers of students for admission to the various programs offered by the university and determining university fees
Approving the appointments of faculty members, their transfer, promotion, delegation, secondment, leave, confirmation, assessment of their work and termination of their services.
Delegation and scholarship to obtain academic degrees
• Supporting scientific research that falls within the powers of the relevant councils
• Awarding academic and honorary degrees
• Establishing professorial chairs
• Adoption of the university calendar
Developing the necessary instructions to implement the provisions of the applicable regulations related to academic and administrative work at the university and approving them within the powers of the aforementioned councils.
• Approving development plans and projects, the budget, final accounts and financial reports, and submitting them to the Council of Higher Education for approval.
• Approving the conclusion of scientific, technological and cultural cooperation agreements between the university and its counterparts outside the Kingdom
• Acceptance of aid, donations, donations, grants, bequests and endowments
• Any other work that falls within the powers of the councils and committees above.
