Tasks of the Department of Agriculture and Landscaping
- Caring for fruit and forest trees, ornamental plants and annuals through seasonal and periodic agricultural operations (cultivation, fencing, weeding, pruning, tillage, fertilization, etc.).
- Controlling agricultural pests and insects by spraying them with insecticides and fungicides.
- Transporting agricultural waste and weeds from the university to the designated place.
- Garden care, including irrigation, cultivation, coordination and all agricultural works.
- Weed control.
- Following up the irrigation of trees at the university and distributing irrigation water as needed without wasting.
- Following up the work of the sewage treatment plant (the Purification Plant) in terms of maintenance, treatment, checks, and everything related to the plant's affairs.
- Following up the work of the Drinking Water Station, including supply, maintenance, checks and all related works.
- Following up of water harvesting ponds in terms of maintaining and supplying water and making use of water for irrigation.
- Following up the work of artesian wells, including operation, maintenance and everything related to these wells.
- Determining the Department's needs in terms of fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural equipment, irrigation network supplies, irrigation pumps, and everything that serves the public interest.
- Participating in the technical study, and purchase, receive and maintain the required materials.
