About the
Department
The Office of
International Students was established based on the decision of the Higher
Education Council in 2006 to create an independent department dedicated to the
care of international students at the university. The department is responsible
for the affairs of international students, starting from their acceptance into
the university until their graduation. It aims to provide an appropriate
academic, social, and cultural environment for international students, helping
them gain knowledge while simultaneously learning about the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan through informative visits to various institutions and entities in
the Kingdom, as well as recreational trips to tourist areas to familiarize students
with the Kingdom's vital and touristic sites.
The
department also monitors the academic progress of international students by
tracking their academic development, facilitating their registration and
admission procedures in collaboration with various university departments, and
organizing regular meetings with the university president, deans, and
department heads.
Additionally,
the department is responsible for organizing promotional activities that
integrate international students with each other and with Jordanian students by
creating cultural and social exchange programs.
Currently, approximately 1,300 international
students from 29 friendly and brotherly Arab and foreign countries are enrolled
at Al al-Bayt University for this semester.
