The situation of spatial development in Al-Mafraq governorate

This study aims to analyze development indicators in Mafraq governorate in order to assess the situation of the population in this province and to identify the economic and social reality of the population there. The study was based on the analytical descriptive approach as the appropriate method for the study. The results of the analysis of the development indicators in Mafraq governorate showed that Mafraq governorate recorded the highest population growth rate in the governorates of Jordan, due to the high rate of natural increase and the sudden migration due to the influx of hundreds Thousands of Syrian refugees, and the study found that the lack of employment opportunities in Mafraq governorate due to the lack of investment projects capable of absorbing the labor force as the service sector accounted for the largest share of the total workforce. The study recommended the necessity of achieving justice in the distribution of facilities, institutions and services, including education and health services, in a manner that ensures a kind of redistribution of the population between the regions of the governorate.
