Mohammad M. Hamed (Ph.D.)
| President & Professor at Isra University Professor at German Jordanian University | Mohammad M. Hamed is a US graduate with a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A. He is a former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (2013-2015). He has over 30 years of solid and professional experience. His professional career spans a wide range of expertise in Energy and Mineral Resources, Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas, LNG Infrastructure Facilities, Energy Efficiency, Energy Market Structure and Regulations, Electricity Market Structure and Fare Setting, Transportation Planning and Infrastructure, Organizational Change, Institutional Strengthening, Trade and Transport Facilitation and Logistics, and Regulation and the Creation of Regulatory entities. Currently, he is the President of Isra University and a professor of civil and environmental engineering at German Jordanian University (GJU). He published over 60 specialized scientific papers in distinguished journals in renewable energy, energy demand forecasting, water demand management and forecasting, transportation safety, transportation policy and planning, and travel demand forecasting. | Ziad Al-Ghazawi, Ph.D. Professor of Water and Environmental Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology | Dr. Ziad Al-Ghazawi received his Ph.D. degree in civil and environmental engineering from Virginia Tech in 1995. He is a professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and he served as chairman of Civil Engineering department and as vice dean of research at JUST, and chaired the founding committee for Ph.D. program in Civil Engineering at JUST in 2017. He was a visiting research professor at both the University of California-Irvine (UCI) and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). With over 30 years of experience in environmental engineering and water resources management and consulting, Dr. Al-Ghazawi managed many environmental engineering projects within his area of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), water reuse and adaptation-to-climate change, including an internationally recognized and award-winning water reuse project in 2008 for CDM-Smith and PA Consulting, Inc. with funding from USAID. Awards by IWA, UNDP and American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He is a recipient of the 2009 International Water Day’s appreciation award by the Ministry of Water & Irrigation in Jordan, and a recipient of the Fulbright scholarship to USA in 2010. He also served as a member of the board of directors of Yarmouk Water Company (YWC) between 2020-2022.
Dr. Al-Ghazawi supervised many graduate students and published numerous reports, book chapters, policy briefs, and research articles in international journals and symposia. He is a certified trainer in PA (public awareness) and PRA (Participatory Rapid Appraisal) by the world university service of Canada (WUSC) and CIDA, and he is a senior scientific adviser for the International Foundation for Science (IFS) in Stockholm, Sweden since 2004 till now. He designed, managed and delivered many training programs within Jordan, in the middle east and around the world.
