A delegation from Bilad Al-Sham University visits Al al-Bayt University
President of the University, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, received a
delegation from the Ministry of Al-Awqaf in the Syrian Arab Republic headed by
Prof. Hossam El-Din Farfour, President of Bilad Al-Sham University-Al-Fateh
Islamic Complex branch in Damascus, and Dr. Ahmed Samer Al-Qabbani, Advisor to
the Syrian Minister of Al-Awqaf and Head of the Sharia Department, visiting the
university on commission from the Syrian Minister of Al-Awqaf and Chairman of
the Board of Trustees of Bilad Al-Sham University.
Prof. Al-Dmour welcomed the delegation emphasizing the depth
of the relations between the two brotherly countries, which came thanks to the
keenness of the leadership of the two countries to deepen the bonds of joint
cooperation. He, further, pointed to the University’s establishment and goals,
which are based on moderation and serving education inside and outside the
country. He displayed the University's projects, programs, qualitative and new
specializations, the available facilities, and the development plan pursued by
the university to keep pace with the requirements of the stage.
Prof. Al-Dmour pointed out the University’s success in the
continuity of education in light of the repercussions of Corona pandemic, and developing
plans in this regard. He confirmed the University’s keenness to enhance the
bonds of cooperation between the two parties by implementing a number of joint
projects and programs, exchanging students, and holding conferences. Al-Dmour finished
his meeting by honoring the guest delegation with the university shield.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation took a tour in
the Faculty of Sharia and met with the Dean, Prof. Ahmed Al-Qaralla, and the
faculty’s family, where it was briefed on the Faculty’s programs,
specializations, objectives and pathway that accompanied the establishment of
the University. Al-Qaralla indicated that we have taken the approach of
communicating with international universities looking for internationalism to
link the University with Islamic universities. He added that we witness a
qualitative shift in the quality of the new programs that will be presented at
the level of graduate studies and networking with international academic institutions.
He praised the achievements witnessed by the Faculty in the past years, highlighting
the Faculty’s mission that is consistent with the University’s mission in
clarifying the truth of the tolerant Islam, which is far from extremism and
narrow mindedness. The tour included the Faculty’s various halls and the
library of His Eminence the late Sheikh Abdullah Ghosheh, which was recently
established containing hundreds of books.
Prof. Hussam El-Din Farfour pointed
out that Al al-Bayt University has an Arab and international position, and he
believes in openness to the world and communication upon which the interest of
the nation is based. He also believes that the university is an edifice that
combines science, thought, literature, heritage and contemporary within the
crucible of Islam and the Arabic language. He confirmed the importance of communication,
coordination and exchange of visits and experiences between the two
universities through the conclusion of a joint cooperation agreement in the
future to serve students from the Arab and Islamic world.
