The department of Internal Control was established in Al al-Bayt University in 1996 to act as the first line of defense in the control system due to the important role it plays in protecting public funds, ensuring its optimal use, and consolidating the ability to establish the rules of effective institutional work, prevent abuses, and assist the top management know what is happening on the ground by monitoring the financial, administrative and technical matters at the university in accordance with the plans and in line with the laws and regulations in force at the university.
