The effect of a cognitive-behavioral counseling program in improving the psychological resilience of children of parents with chronic illness
This study aimed to investigate the effect of cognitive-behavioral counseling program in improving resilience among a sample consisted of (24) students with chronically ill parents aged between (18-21 years) were randomly divided into two equal groups: the experimental group whose members received a counseling program based on cognitive behavioral therapy approach, and the control group whose members did not receive any counseling program. The results showed differences in the post test between the experimental and control groups on the resilience scale, as the level of psychological resilience was improved in a higher degree in the experimental group compared with the control group members. Also, the posteriori and consecutive comparisons revealed that there were no statistically significant differences between the means of the responses of the experimental group on the post and iterative test.
