On behalf of Al al-Bayt University President Prof. Osama Nuseir, Vice President for Community Affairs and International Relations Prof. Hani Akho Rshida inaugurated the 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Response (AIDR 2025), organized by the Center for Modeling and Simulation of Risk Analysis, with wide participation from researchers and experts from Jordan and abroad.
In his speech, Prof.
Akho Rshida emphasized that the conference provides a global scientific
platform to discuss key topics such as early warning systems, disaster
prediction, crisis management, infrastructure protection, climate change
adaptation, and the ethical and policy dimensions of AI applications.
Prof. Moayad Al-Shwaqfeh,
Dean of Engineering and Director of the Center, highlighted the vital
role of AI in data analysis, risk prediction, and improving timely
disaster response.
The
conference featured diverse research papers addressing food security,
water quality, integrated water resources management, drone
applications, climate change adaptation, and AI frameworks for smarter
disaster management, reinforcing international collaboration for the
service of humanity.
