Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah College of Information Technology at Al al-Bayt University Organizes "CTF Boot to Root" Cybersecurity Competition

Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah College of Information Technology at Al al-Bayt University organized the "CTF Boot to Root" cybersecurity competition on Sunday, May 13, 2025, with the participation of a select group of college students interested in information security and penetration testing.

The competition aimed to develop students' practical skills in facing security challenges by engaging with realistic scenarios in a competitive environment. The competition included challenges in the areas of cryptography, reverse engineering, malware analysis, and network security.

At the end of the event, the winners of the top three positions were announced, and the results were as follows:

  • First Place: Wi’am Nabil Abdullah Gharaibeh

  • Second Place: Aya Abdullah Mahmoud Hamadeh & Qasem Mohammad Mohsen Al-Dhiabat

  • Third Place: Hassan Nasser Saber Al-Omari

The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jaradat, Dean of Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah College of Information Technology, Dr. Areej Al-Shorman, and Eng. Qudor Al-Khawalda from the Computer Center. They praised the active role and great enthusiasm of the students, affirming that this competition aligns with the college's vision of supporting extracurricular activities and enhancing students' skills to meet the demands of the cybersecurity job market.

A group of students also participated in organizing the event and played a vital role in setting up the technical environment and coordinating the event proceedings.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants and honoring the winning teams, in an atmosphere filled with excitement, challenge, and technical creativity.
