Services Provided by the Department
- · Establish a comprehensive infrastructure of computing devices, accessories, a local network, internet services, telephone services, communications, a surveillance camera system, biometric systems, and operating and ready-made software according to global standards. Provide technical support.
- · Supervise the university’s network, ensuring efficient operation and resolving internet-related issues.
- · Follow up on any network issues and respond to all maintenance requests submitted by users in various departments and faculties across the university.
- · Conduct daily checks on the primary and secondary network distribution systems and the surveillance camera system.
- · Inspect the computer network's manholes and ensure proper maintenance of infrastructure.
- · Ensure continuous development and follow-up of operating systems in use at the university.
- · Provide technical services and fulfill all maintenance requests for devices and accessories submitted by users across university departments and faculties.
- · Regularly monitor the surveillance camera system and biometric devices.
- · Register employee fingerprints in the biometric system and link attendance records to the employees' time cards.
- · Develop the computing network and equip it with high-speed devices to ensure continuous communication between different university locations and the internet.
- · Provide sufficient computers and laboratories to keep up with the increasing number of students.
- · Train and develop the technical staff to provide better services to all university departments and faculties.
- · Install high-definition surveillance cameras in several buildings, at the university gates, and in some teaching labs.
- · Ensure the installation of wireless networks in newly constructed buildings for several university faculties.
- · Implement any projects aimed at developing the computing network and enhancing its capacity to keep up with technological advancements.
- · Ensure continuous work through a strong technical infrastructure by monitoring network maintenance contracts, surveillance systems, computing devices, and telephone systems in collaboration with the responsible companies.
- · Follow up on all events and conferences inside and outside the university, and provide the necessary computer equipment.
