The Extent of Using Modern Professional Competencies by Arabic Language Teachers in Light of Educational Development Requirements in of Kuwait the State Prepared by
Abstract The current study aimed to investigate the practice level of modern professional competencies among Arabic language teachers in light of educational development requirements in Kuwait. The study consisted of all schools? directors (23), educational supervisors (11), and departments? heads of Arabic language (23) in Great Mubarak district in Kuwait for the academic year 2011/2012. The total number of participants were (57), of whom 23 were directors, 11 educational supervisors, and 23 departments? heads. All were selected using purposeful sampling with 100% of the study population have been selected. To achieve the purpose of the study, a measure of modern professional competencies among Arabic language teachers was developed by the researcher. The measure consisted of 54 items, which were distributed into five domains. Results of the study indicated moderate practice level of modern professional competencies among Arabic language teachers in light of educational development requirements in Kuwait. Also, significant differences were observed in the practice level of modern professional competencies among Arabic language teachers in light of educational development requirements due to tenure, in favor of heads of departments. No significant gender differences were found in the practice level for modern professional competencies among Arabic teachers in light of educational development requirement
