​The university scientific requirements department was established in the second semester of the academic year 2016/2017 within the faculty of science, due to the need to provide an academic and administrative umbrella concerned with offering a set of scientific courses, which are known as the University Scientific Requirements. This department does not award any academic degrees in any of the academic disciplines. However, it offers and teaches a number of elective courses, in line with the study plans for the various academic disciplines of the undergraduate stage at Al al-Bayt University, and in line with the academic accreditation standards for universities in Jordan.

The department's vision is to work on providing the student with elective courses of added value in the cognitive, intellectual, research, health, environmental, behavioral, and administrative fields, by offering a number of elective courses, which in total aim to develop students' skills and abilities.

Moreover, the department's mission stems from the university's mission as a whole, by providing the necessary support for the preparation of scientific competencies in the various fields of science and knowledge through the provision of distinguished education and responding to the requirements of society.
