Exploring Safety Culture in Jordanian Hospitals: A Baseline Study
A version of the Hospital Survey of Patient Safety Culture translated into Arabic was
administered to a convenient sample of 391 nurses from seven hospitals in Jordan.
The average positive response rate to the 12 dimensions of safety culture ranged from
20.0% to 74.6%. The average positive response rates of the 12 composites are lower
than the benchmarks of the Agency of Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) of 2014.
Jordanian nurses perceive their hospitals as places that need more effort to improve
safety culture.
