Students from Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II College for Information Technology at Al al-Bayt University Win First Place in the Smart Cities Category

Students from Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II College for Information Technology at Al al-Bayt University achieved first place in the Smart Cities category during their participation in the Future Skills and Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, organized by the Career Preparation Center at the Hashemite University.

The college was represented by the Sky Cipher team, consisting of students Shaima Al-Haj, Doha Dababseh, Taqa Abu Hurra, Alaa Badawi, and Omar Dababseh, under the supervision of Dr. Suhaila Abu Oweida.

The competition featured strong participation from teams representing various Jordanian universities, who presented innovative AI-based solutions across multiple fields, including data analytics, financial technology, healthcare, digital media, smart recruitment, and smart cities.

The College, represented by its Dean, Professor Mohammed Issa Riyad Al-Jaradat, extends its warmest congratulations to the participating students and their supervisor on this outstanding achievement, wishing them continued success, excellence, and further accomplishments in their academic and professional careers.

It is worth noting that the Sky Cipher project redefines autonomous flight by equipping drones with a "visual brain" trained through more than 3.2 million learning steps, enabling them to make independent decisions and avoid obstacles in real time. To complement this system, the team developed a specialized chatbot that serves as a strategic communication interface, allowing military personnel to monitor drone status, analyze operational data, and issue commands through a simple and intelligent conversational platform. This transforms the drone from a mere flying device into an intelligent field partner capable of understanding its surroundings and delivering accurate, real-time information to commanders on the ground.
