Concluding the activities of the summer camp for non-native Arabic speakers

The Language Center Director, Dr. Omar Al-Khaza'leh, graduated the students of the summer camp, in attendance of the administrative staff and the Division's coordinator, Dr. Marwa Al-Bataineh. The student, Jihad Zahran, (the language partner) offered them the Jordanian Shemagh scarf as a souvenir. Dr. Al-Khazaleh also honored the language partners with certificates for their active participation with the students, whether in the classrooms, events and internal housing. The language partners (volunteer students) had an important role in the direct educational process inside and outside the halls. They established WhatsApp groups for interaction between students and teachers in order to break the indoctrination barrier of education and directing the student's mind towards interactive language in a wide application space and available throughout the day, benefiting from American and French education systems, curricula and methods in teaching the language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Recreational trips were, further, activated as a contributing and supporting aspect of this unified curriculum in the integrative education of the continuous applied language system. This resulted in graduating a group of students who could engage with the Arab community and use an organized and clear language system. Saturday was devoted to visiting the tourist and archaeological areas and the tombs of the Companions. The students were accompanied on the trip by Dr. Marwa Bataineh, Mr. Haitham Al-Hayek, Assistant Director for Administrative Affairs, and the language partners. These trips were considered as an authentic and supportive part of the continuation of the language interaction mechanism, in addition to the continuous presence of the Division's coordinator with students outside lecture times until seven in the evening outside the university environment (Mafraq) aiming at strengthening our ties with them as first an Arab Islamic society and second a Jordanian society.

Dr. Marwa Bataineh stated that “This success that we achieved with the students at the levels of speaking, reading, writing and listening was the result of the efforts made by everyone, especially our volunteer students who accompanied the foreign students in all activities and were a supportive and motivating element for them. We at the Language Center work in a unified and clear format that helped our success in achieving our goal."

The students of the summer camp for non-Arabic speakers left for their countries, feeling proud of the rich experience they gained after spending two months on Al al-Bayt University campus
